Office of Institutional Research & Analysis
The Office of Institutional Research & Analysis (OIRA) provides a central focus for the College assessment processes and helps Units implement assessment activities. The office gathers, maintains, analyzes, and reports data. This institutional research information is used for internal decision making, external reporting, and conducting comparative studies with other institutions.

The OIRA can be contacted for assistance in the following areas:
- Assessment Workshops: Conducting workshops on an overview of assessment techniques or particular assessment topics
- Classroom Assessment: Identifying classroom assessment activities such as those described in Classroom Assessment Techniques: A Handbook for College Teachers by Tom Angelo and Patricia Cross.
- Data Analysis: Analyzing qualitative and quantitative data and generating statistical reports
- Department Assessment Plans: Developing/revising goals and outcomes and selecting appropriate assessment techniques and time lines
- Extracts from College and External Surveys: Generating separate department/program reports, possibly for multiple years, from data collected through various surveys
- Focus Groups: Designing focus group questions, conducting sessions and summarizing results
- Institutional Data: Providing data for accrediting reviews, Academic Program Reviews, grant applications, and other ad hoc requests
- Interviews: Designing interview questions and summarizing results
- Rubrics: Reviewing, revising and providing training on appropriate rubrics for specified outcomes
