Certificate of Residence
Permanent Resident OUTSIDE of Oneida County:
You must submit a Certificate of Residency APPLICATION annually to your Home County Treasurer’s office in order to obtain your Home County Certificate of Residence (SUNY B-81 form). The Certificate must be submitted annually to the Business Office (Utica or Rome) prior to the payment deadline but no earlier than 60 days preceding the first day of classes. It must be notarized.
If you are a resident of any of the following counties, you can download their specific application from here:
- Orange County
- Saratoga County
- Suffolk County
- Westchester County
- City of New York
- ALL OTHER COUNTIES PLEASE USE THIS FORM – Certificate of Residence APPLICATION Form (SUNY B-80 form)
Oneida County Permanent Resident:
Not required to provide a Certificate of Residence, if you are a permanently domiciled legal resident of Oneida County in accordance with Education law 6305. MVCC may request documentation before granting New York State and/or Oneida County residency.
Herkimer or Lewis County Residents – Part Time Students Only:
Complete and submit the Certificate of Residence portion of the Course Selection Form to the Business Office (Utica or Rome) prior to the payment deadline but no earlier than 60 days preceding the first day of classes.
