Enrolling as a Non-Matriculated Student
Dual Credit Courses
MVCC works with a number of area high schools to offer dual-credit courses. Dual credit courses are college courses, offered at the high school, that meet both the graduation requirements of the high school and begin building college credit requirements. Contact your high school Guidance Office to determine if dual credit courses are offered at your school.
CCED non-credit Courses
MVCC's Center for Community and Economic Development offers an array of short term, non-credit courses.
Home Schooled Students
If you are being home schooled and wish to enroll in college courses on a part-time basis to supplement your home school program, you must contact the Vice President for Student Services at 315-792-5456. Interested students will be required to take the MVCC Placement Test and schedule an appointment with the Vice President to determine academic and social readiness.
Non-High School Graduates, no GED and under the age of 19
If you have not completed high school, do not possess a GED and wish to attempt college level course work, you must contact the Vice President for Student Services at 315-792-5456. Interested students will be required to take the MVCC Placement Test and schedule an appointment with the Vice President to determine academic and social readiness.
Senior Citizen Audit
Oneida County residents who are sixty years of age or older can sign up to audit certain courses tuition free at MVCC. Audit is on a space available basis and should be requested no more than two days prior to the start of classes. Classes which cannot be audited are those that are non-credit or laboratory classes which would require additional instructional equipment or supplies, such as in the sciences or culinary classes.
Those auditing classes are not formally enrolled as students at MVCC. They attend classes without participating in testing. There is no grade or credit received for the course. Textbooks are purchased at the student's expense. MVCC is not responsible for any other expense that may be incurred. All inquiries regarding Senior Citizen Audit should be directed to the Registration's Office at 315-792-5336.
