The irony of having a last name of Katz, while being a dog lover and amateur dog trainer my whole life is not lost on me. I have "raised" and trained rescue dogs with multiple temperaments from mellow to high strung. I have lots of practical experience along with some book knowledge given my passion for these canine companions. I will share ways to establish yourself as the leader of your "pack" for their own well-being as well as your family's. From feeding time procedures, to walking without the need for a leash, to body language, plus critical safety commands like come, stay, get back, heel and go; I will share what I know about something I love. I'm hoping that Scout (a very high strung Australian Cattle Dog) and Wags (a very friendly Pit Bull/sight hound mix) can demo a little for us after the classroom talk! Who am I kidding.......I am also hoping you might feel more confident in rescuing a dog yourself after meeting these two guys and learning how to help them heal.
