Saving files directly to MVHAWK from another location
- To copy files FROM
your MVHawk directory , open an Internet Explorer session.
- Enter
the following address in the address line:
ftp://mvhawk.mvcc.edu

- You
will then be asked to login. Enter your network login name for the
User name and your network password for the password. Once you have entered both pieces of
information, press Enter or click on
Log On.

- Once
logging in, you should then see your personal MVHawk
directory (similar to as seen below).


- Select the file(s). Click on Edit and then Copy.
- Go to the location that you wish to
copy files to. In our example
we will be copying the files to “My Documents” folder.

- Open your “My Documents” folder. Select Edit and then Paste.

- To copy files FROM
your laptop: In our example we will
be copying the files to “My Documents” folder.
- Open your “My Documents” folder. Select the file(s) you wish to
copy. Select Edit and then Copy.

Go to MVHawk directory:
- Open an Internet Explorer session.
- Enter
the following address in the address line:
ftp://mvhawk.mvcc.edu

- You
will then be asked to login. Enter your network login name for the
User name and your network password for the password. Once you have entered both pieces of
information, press Enter or click on
Log On.

- Once
logging in, you should then see your personal MVHawk
directory (similar to as seen below).


- Select Edit and then Paste.

Saving the files
to MVHawk from home:
-
From the software package that you used to create the file, select File and then Save
As.

- Click on the down arrow and select FTP
Locations.

You will have to complete steps 3-5 one time. After adding the FTP location the first time,
you can proceed to step 6.
- Click on Add/Modify FTP Locations.

- A
screen similar to that shown below will appear.

- Input
the following information into the Add/Modify FTP Locations screen:
- Name of FTP site: mvhawk.mvcc.edu
- Log on as: User in drop
down box enter your login name
- Password: Enter your network password
- Click on Add
- Click on OK

- Now
that the FTP site has been loaded, you can save the file directly to your MVHawk directory.
Click on ftp://mvhawk.mvcc.edu

- Once
clicking on ftp://mvhawk.mvcc.edu,
you will see another dialog box containing all of the user directories on
the MVHawk server. Locate
and open your folder. You can then
save it to your directory.
