Spring Institute 2012
Workshop:Flipping Your Classroom
Presented by: Melissa Barlett and Barbara Turner
Location: IT 227
Time: Tuesday, May 28 1:00 pm
Max number of participants: 40

We often say that we want our students to take a more active part in the learning process and own their learning, but then we often teach to a passive group of listeners. In a "flipped" classroom, the basic learning process takes place outside of the classroom so you can devote class time to more difficult and complex applications of the material, using examples and case studies, and engaging critical thinking in a guided environment. Come hear two different perspectives from a science and math class as to how we turned our content-heavy classrooms around and why we love it!
