The new SUNY Gen Ed includes Information Literacy as a competency, with the outcomes Locate information effectively; Evaluate information; Understand the ethical dimensions of information use, creation, and dissemination. The SUNY competencies are intended to be infused throughout the curriculum, rather than incorporated into a single course. In this session, work with librarians Jocelyn and Claire to increase your information literacy confidence and generate ideas for concrete, easy-to-implement, and up-to-date ways to infuse information literacy into any course or subject matter. The last half hour is optional and will be devoted to working on an assignment or lesson plan you wish to update to further incorporate information literacy outcomes.
