Like many community colleges across the country, The College of Lake County understands the power of our institution to transform the lives of our community and its members in unimaginable ways - if only we engage in our work with purpose and passion. The SHN provides us an opportunity to consistently hone our purpose through its use of analogical innovation, exploring how non-education-based industries are innovating to enhance their customers' lives and how to transfer that innovation into the higher education space. The collegial conversations, bright and energetic minds, and deep desire to make a difference in our communities that are part of the SHN membership naturally keeps the flame of passion alive for us as a College as we, too, strive to be a place that courageously reimagines and transforms our work to ensure that our communities thrive.
